The Nehemiah Project
Who are we?
The Nehemiah Project is a coalition of like-minded churches, leaders of faith-based organizations and para church ministries placing a high priority on building and even restoring meaningful relationships in the Des Moines metro.
Our approach is antithetical to ecclesial models that put outreach together first, before reaching inward and getting to know one another as we labor together in our city. We are not transactional, but relational.
As a result of that relational equity we mobilize to unite our resources and influence to maximize Kingdom impact across the city of Des Moines. Our composite consists of big churches, small churches and alliances of the international community.
What are we doing?
Our mandate is simple. We put weight on the “living stones.”
The real building and restoration starts by caring, supporting and praying for one another. We don’t compete but complete one another when we acknowledge our need to build friendships.
Relationship building is hard work. We all have busy schedules. We have families and life happens. When Christian leaders care for one another, it builds a wall against evil opposition that attempts to dismantle unity.
It’s from this place of trust that we begin to build massive grids of outreach that also incorporates other community silos. We focus on three major outreaches annually that express our love for our city by giving of ourselves and our resources.
